The candidate performs many basic accounting functions related to business management and tax specifications. This job class requires knowledge of fundamental accounting and/or tax principals and the ability to perform work, manage progress and meet deadlines. Performs day-to-day full-charge bookkeeping functions for clients under general supervision.     Core Responsibilities: - Leading Managing and Holding People Accountable (LMA) Learn and begin applying growth process (participates in assigned RC, pipeline support, COPs, etc.) - Supervise the engagement (job) / Ensures QX (technical) standards - Takes care of the client (meets deadlines, timely communication) - Analytical skills (tax knowledge, monthly accounting reports, investment reports) Essential Functions: - Gain an understanding and assist in planning multiple tax assignments in various industries - Provides proactive and strategic advice on all business and financial matters. Budgets, monitors, and assesses the effective and efficient use of operating, research and reserve funds. - Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for partnerships, C corporations, S corporations and individuals Compiles work papers and other accounting reports. - Develop tax compliance knowledge and assist with IRS audits, tax notice response, trust returns, gift and estate returns - Participate in client assignments from beginning to end - Prepares and indexes working papers; performs various procedures to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial matters - Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as requested by clients and managers/partners. Nonessential Functions: - Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by accountants or partners. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Bachelor’s Degree in accounting OR Bachelor’s Degree plus requisite accounting coursework. - Experience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA Proficient in all tax compliance process software including Access, Prosystems and other tax related software. - Datafaction, Agilink and QuickBooks Online is strongly preferred. - Ability to operate calculator, computer, and other general office equipment. - Knowledge of computerized accounting, but must be able to do a manual set of books. - Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions, Payroll returns, Business tax license, Secretary of State filing and State Board of Equalization Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes - Directs the work of lower level staff Working Conditions: - Overtime throughout the year will be necessary. - Works in the office 98% of the time. - Minimal Hazards. Minimum Qualifications: - 4 – 7 years of tax, accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and financial reports - Prior experience in Business Management preferred. This position is primarily responsible for generating and distributing AR invoices and must be familiar with all A/R functions, while assisting the team with AR follow up and reporting. MGO is proud to be a “Best Place to Work” and is ranked as a leader by Accounting Today and Inside Public Accounting.   Job Details: MGO is growing and we need an experienced, motivated, and dedicated Assurance, Audit Director with a strong background in PCAOB audits to join the team.   Essential Functions: - Performing audits under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) U.S, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Standards. - Exhibit technical proficiency and the management ability to plan, budget for, and manage complete audit and/or client engagements, including preparation of reporting products, in accordance with MGO’s policies, procedures and practices. - Demonstrate a command of project management skills exhibiting the ability to complete and deliver products and services in a timely and efficient manner. - Manage lower-level associates, providing timely verbal and written feedback including conducting annual performance evaluations. - Exhibit expertise in assigned areas/departments of the firm. - Demonstrate ability to resolve technical and client service issues and/or problems independently. - Recognize and capitalize on opportunities to provide additional services to clients. - Monitor and manage hourly yields realized on engagement or client billings, pursuing cost savings and raising ideas from others and self. - Prepare billing worksheets as per firm schedule and procedures and communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention. - Communicate effectively (verbal, written, presentation skills) with all levels of associates, HQ personnel, management, partners, and clients. - May act as advisor to lower-level associates. - Actively participates in professional associations/affiliations. - Assist in firm management/administration functions as assigned by the partners. - Personnel responsibilities such as hiring, termination, promotion, demotion, assignment, and performance feedback. - This role will require travel, some overnight.   Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting required with a minimum of 1, but typically 2 +, years of experience as a sr. manager. - Bachelor’s Degree in accounting OR Bachelor’s Degree plus requisite accounting coursework. - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License from appropriate state. - Strong understanding of: PCAOB, US GAAP & GAAS and other audit methodologies, internal controls, and financial statement audits. - Proven ability to assign work, guide employees and complete projects on time and in budget. - Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing direct reports, management at higher levels and clients.   Why work for MGO: At MGO, we understand that our team members give their very best when they feel fully seen, valued, and supported. A career in our business management sector will provide you with the opportunities to develop advanced technical and soft skills to help you learn how to build and maintain strong client relationships and overall industry exposure.   This Business Management Account Manager role will be working with Assistant Account Managers and Seniors to execute full-charge bookkeeping functions for clients in the Business Management industry. Gaining hands on experience and exposure to clients within music, entertainment, media and sports industries.   Hybrid Schedule with just 2 days in office Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions: - Performs the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly bookkeeping activities of the assigned client - Identify and help solve engagement (job) technical issues, anomalies, non-routine items - Conducts self in a professional manner related to all client communications and interactions - Receives, enters, and, when necessary, investigates client's accounts payable invoices. - Communicates (both in verbal and written form) with clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts. - Handles client mail. - Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as requested by clients and managers/partners. - Deposits accounts receivables into client bank accounts. - Books journal entries - Generates 1099's for clients. - Prepares monthly bank reconciliations  - Prepares monthly flow reports  Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum 2-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience within business management industry  - Datafaction Imaging software - Working experience at a CPA or Business Management specific firm - May be required to be a Notary Public. - Knowledge of computerized accounting, but must be able to do a manual set of books.   What's in it for you: - Work at the forefront: Our clients are culture shapers and mavericks breaking new ground in competitive and highly regulated industries.
