Employees in this job class perform as a lead by assigning work and providing guidance to lower level associates. This job class requires knowledge of intermediate accounting principals of which would be derived from several years of experience as an Experienced Associate and the ability to assign work, manage progress and meet deadlines.   Core Responsibilities: · Leading Managing and Holding People Accountable (LMA) · Learn and begin applying growth process (participates in assigned RC, pipeline support, COPs, etc.) · Supervise the engagement (job) and ensures QC (technical) standards · Takes care of the client (meets deadlines, timely communication) · Develops engagement team (prepares staff to the next level)   Essential Functions: · Understand and be able to explain the reasons behind the firm’s policies, procedures and practices and project management techniques. · Possess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise lower level associates and lead engagements, including: coordinate work flow with client; resolve intermediate to advanced audit, accounting and client service issues; review work papers and other products produced by lower level associates; and keep engagement progressing as planned and budgeted. · Prepare time budgets on engagements. · Demonstrate ability to assist in the planning of audit or client engagements. · Audit complex areas such as debt, derivatives and/or unusual transactions. · Report day-to-day work to engagement or client manager. · Ensure all work papers are complete, consistent, and contain procedures performed, evidence obtained, and conclusions reached. · Prepare draft financial statements. · Acquire skills (and/or refine) necessary to develop quality client relationships. · Identify key issues facing clients and discuss possible solutions to increase quality and efficiency. · Demonstrate complete command of all firm software. · Develop a command of GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS** and any other common audit techniques. · Exhibit strong communications skills (verbal; written; presentation) with lower level associates, management/partners, and clients. · Provide timely performance and behavior feedback to lower level associates via verbal discussions and/or engagement evaluations.   Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes   Minimum Qualifications: · Minimum of 2, but typically 3 +, years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting required. · Bachelor’s Degree in accounting OR Bachelor’s Degree plus requisite accounting coursework. · CPA preferred, if not a CPA, must meet educational requirements and actively sitting for the CPA exam as outlined by the Board of Accountancy in the state of your preferred office location · Ability to be flexible in changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time. · Ability to act in a responsive manner to client inquires and requests; escalate the more difficult issues as necessary. · Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.   Success Factors: · Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English. · Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential. · Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.   What's in it for you: Work at the forefront: Our clients are culture shapers and mavericks breaking new ground in competitive and highly regulated industries. A career in our business management sector will provide you with the opportunities to develop advanced technical and soft skills to help you learn how to build and maintain strong client relationships and overall industry exposure.   This Business Management Account Manager role will be working with Assistant Account Managers and Seniors to execute full-charge bookkeeping functions for clients in the Business Management industry. Gaining hands on experience and exposure to clients within music, entertainment, media and sports industries. Must be in office 3 days a week Century City. Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions: - Performs the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly bookkeeping activities of the assigned client - Identify and help solve engagement (job) technical issues, anomalies, non-routine items - Conducts self in a professional manner related to all client communications and interactions - Receives, enters, and, when necessary, investigates client's accounts payable invoices. - Communicates (both in verbal and written form) with clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts. - Handles client mail. - Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as requested by clients and managers/partners. - Deposits accounts receivables into client bank accounts. - Books journal entries - Generates 1099's for clients. - Prepares monthly bank reconciliations  - Prepares monthly flow reports  Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum 2-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience within business management industry  - Datafaction Imaging software - Working experience at a CPA or Business Management specific firm - May be required to be a Notary Public. - Knowledge of computerized accounting, but must be able to do a manual set of books.   What's in it for you: - Work at the forefront: Our clients are culture shapers and mavericks breaking new ground in competitive and highly regulated industries. MGO is proud to be a “Best Place to Work” and is ranked as a leader by Accounting Today and Inside Public Accounting.   Summary: The Tax Coordinator works closely with the Tax Operations Manager and is responsible for providing administrative support to the Tax team firmwide to ensure client deliverables are met.   Core Responsibilities: · Provide administrative support to leaders and teams delivering Tax services · Complete assigned tasks / jobs · Identify and help solve engagement (job) technical issues, anomalies, non-routine items · Collaborate and communicate with client and team members in a professional manner   Essential Functions: · Receive tax mail from office mail room and distribute to appropriate firm tax professional · Request New Client Setup · Monitor tax return / projects in tracking system · Create and distribute weekly due dates reports to all Tax Staff (all levels) · Assist in ongoing maintenance/cleanup of firm tracking system · Client Data – scan electronic documents into the client specific documents folder via Sureprep/Virtual Cabinet, obtain and deliver copies of previously filed client tax returns, and return original documents to clients · Assemble completed tax returns, estimates and extensions and deliver to appropriate personnel, as well as update the firm tracking system · Coordinate and submit all certified mail for the department · Prepare mailing of copies of returns, estimated tax payment vouchers to clients · Transmit returns and extensions electronically · Manage tax return electronic filing system processes, including verifying e-file was accepted and managing e-file rejections and taking corrective action on rejected files · Administrator on CCH Tax Axcess, SuerPrep and Safesend · Maintain tracking, due dates and role assignments   Minimum Qualifications: · 2 -3 years’ experience in administrative role supporting Tax services · Excellent customer service skills (internal and external) · Strong attention to detail · Creative problem solving and research skills · Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills · Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently · Highly motivated and interested in taking the initiative for personal growth and development · Able to handle multiple priorities, tasks and simultaneous projects · Ability to work overtime as needed · Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) · Prior experience with CCH preferred   Success Factors: · Career ownership through proactively seeking assignment, research, helping others, seeking feedback and keeping others informed of available hours · Team player - help where you can, stay engaged with the team through project completion · Task/deadline oriented - completing projects within expectations i.e. timeframe and budget · Continually work to increase quality of work through asking questions and being receptive to review notes and feedback · Ownership of work - follow through to completion and communicate status with seniors/supervisors often   Why work for MGO?
