MGO is looking to add Assurance Interns starting in Summer 2022 for our Sacramento team! This position would be performing day-today auditing functions for clients.   Core Responsibilities - Complete assigned tasks/jobs. - Learn the growth process (identify and communicate growth). - Identify and help solve engagement (job) technical issues, anomalies, non-routine items. - Collaborate and communicate with client and team members in a professional manner. Essential Functions - Assist in the execution of audit procedures. Perform various duties such as understanding routine data processes, testing controls, and performing substantive procedures. Analyze evidence, prepare written communications, participate in one-on-one and small group discussions with other engagement team members, and interact with client personnel. - Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client's environment. Maintain a strong client focus, be responsive to client requests, and develop/maintain productive working relationships with client personnel. - Demonstrate teamwork, integrity, and accountability. Assist and collaborate with team members. Contribute ideas/opinions to teams and listen/respond to other views. - Learn to utilize audit software. - Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives, client's engagement history, and planned audit approach. - Understand the rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA. - Become familiar with pronouncements of the FASB, PCAOB, AICPA, and when assigned to governmental engagements, the GAO, OMB, and GASB. - Become familiar at preparing financial statements. - Contribute ideas/opinions to the audit teams and listen/respond to other team members' views. - Demonstrate an approachable, professional and competent demeanor in the client's environment. Minimum Qualifications: - Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience in accounting with sufficient course work to achieve CPA certification. - Minimum completion of junior year in undergraduate program (preferred). - 0 years’ experience in a public accounting firm. - Proficient in MS Office applications. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work a minimum 20 hours per week during summer, options to extend internships into school semesters may be available.   Success Factors: - Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English. - Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential. - Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.   Why work for MGO? A career in our public assurance / audit sector will provide you with the opportunities to learn and develop technical auditing skills both hands-on and through continuous firm training initiatives in a variety of industries.   This Assurance / AuditAssociate role will be working with your engagement team, including management and partners, to deliver hands-on, day-to-day audit support. While gaining exposure to multiple audit techniques and methods you will also be given the opportunity to create, network and develop professional relationships internally and externally with clients. The Director/Partner for Transaction Advisory Services works with our Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Advisory practice servicing both corporate and private equity clients. Our M&A group services include buy-side diligence and sell-side diligence.   Core Responsibilities - Lead and manage multiple challenging financial due diligence engagements - Participates in transactions related to the acquisitions by private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers - Develop and provide qualified planning approaches with timely & responsive services and work products that meet or exceed client expectations - Use proven business development skills to build on transaction advisory services work - Recognize business opportunities and enhance go-to market strategies - Lead teams to create a vision, form direction, and encourage team members   Essential Functions - Lead buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, providing financial and business due diligence assistance. - Direct and coordinate approach of client, MGO’s engagement teams, and third party diligence providers throughout the transaction process. - Manage staff to provide feedback and real-time guidance to client & diligence providers to ensure timely and efficient service delivery. - Evaluate target company data to identify past and projected financial & operating trends, quality of earnings and working capital concerns, and potential liabilities and risks which impact valuation and negotiation of the target company. - Design personalized transaction advisory reports specific to key issues such as normalized earnings, valuation models, and indebtedness considerations. - Performs other duties as assigned by Partner.   Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. - Master's degree preferred. - Licensed CPA/equivalent certification is preferred. - 8+ years of related work experience including financial due diligence and experience in advisory. - Proven track record of building and growing a Transaction Advisory Service Practice. - Experience servicing private equity groups. - Experience with developing and supervising teams. - Proven thorough knowledge with operating in a professional services firm or large consultancy. - Shows thorough abilities to identify and address client needs, including developing and sustaining meaningful client relationships and understanding the client's business. - Keeps up to date with the Transaction and Advisory Services Industry, and Private Equity groups (PEG), following the industry's advancements.   Success Factors: - Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English. - Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential. - Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.   Why work for MGO?
