In your role at MGO, you will be managing a team of senior associates and associates on projects related to:   Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions - Leading IPO engagements and providing guidance to clients throughout the IPO. - Drafting S-1, 10-K, 10-Q, and other public company filings. - Drafting private company financial statements. - Drafting technical memos and accounting policies. - Implementation of ASC 606 revenue standard. - Implementation of ASC 842 lease standard. - Managing a client's audit process and preparing audit support. - Carve-out financial statement preparation. - Purchase price accounting for business combinations. - Post-merger opening balance sheet preparation. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Revenue recognition (including experience implementing ASC 606.) - Leases (including experience implementing ASC 842). - Equity (stock-based compensation, preferred stock, EPS, warrants, etc.) Consolidations (experience in consolidating multiple trial balances in various functional currencies). - Debt issuances and debt modifications. - Experience in writing technical accounting memos. - Business combinations (opening balance sheet, disclosures, etc.) and financial due diligence experience, including carve-outs. - Drafting private company financial statements with full footnote disclosures. Some additional responsibilities and requirements for the Assurance / Audit Manager: This role will require travel, some overnight. Essential Functions: - Exhibit technical proficiency and the management ability to plan, budget for, and manage complete audit and/or client engagements, including preparation of reporting products, in accordance with MGO’s policies, procedures and practices. - Demonstrate a command of project management skills exhibiting the ability to complete and deliver products and services in a timely and efficient manner. - Manage lower level associates, providing timely verbal and written feedback including conducting annual performance evaluations. - Exhibit expertise in assigned areas/departments of the firm. - Demonstrate ability to resolve technical and client service issues and/or problems independently. - Recognize and capitalize on opportunities to provide additional services to clients. - Monitor and manage hourly yields realized on engagement or client billings, pursuing cost savings and raising ideas from others and self. - Prepare billing worksheets as per firm schedule and procedures and communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention. - Communicate effectively (verbal, written, presentation skills) with all levels of associates, HQ personnel, management, partners and clients. - May act as advisor to lower level associates. - Actively participates in professional associations/affiliations. - Assist in firm management/administration functions as assigned by the partners. - Personnel responsibilities such as hiring, termination, promotion, demotion, assignment and performance feedback. Employees in this job class perform as a lead by assigning work and providing guidance to lower level associates. This job class requires knowledge of intermediate accounting and/or tax principals of which would be derived from several years of experience as an Experienced Associate and the ability to assign work, manage progress and meet deadlines. The Senior Associate is responsible for utilizing research skills, applying tax foundational knowledge to understand potential tax issues, gathering client information necessary for filing, participating in tax planning, recognizing and communicating potential risks, preparing tax accrual workpapers and working with tax software applications to complete tax returns for review.   Core Responsibilities - Leading Managing and Holding People Accountable (LMA). - Learn and begin to apply growth process (participates in assigned RC, pipeline support, COPs, etc.) - Supervises the engagement (job) project management, billing, ensures QC (technical) standards. - Takes care of the client (meets deadlines, timely communication). - Develops engagement team (prepares seniors to the next level). Essential Functions - Understand and be able to explain the reasons behind the firm’s policies, procedures and practices and project management techniques. - Possess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise lower level associates. - Ensure all work papers are complete, consistent, and contain procedures performed, evidence obtained, and conclusions reached. - Acquire skills (and/or refine) necessary to develop quality client relationships. - Identify key issues facing clients and discuss possible solutions to increase quality and efficiency. - Demonstrate complete command of all firm software. - Develop a command of GAAP, GAAS, and any other common audit/tax techniques. - Exhibit strong communications skills (verbal; written; presentation) with lower level associates, management/partners, and clients. - Provide timely performance and behavior feedback to lower level associates via verbal discussions and/or evaluations.
