The Opportunity:

MGO is seeking an experienced HNW Tax Director or Partner to lead complex tax engagements and drive growth within our tax practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned public accounting professional with deep expertise in high-net-worth individual and general corporate tax, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to develop client relationships. Directors operate at a Partner-equivalent level, without equity, and are expected to contribute meaningfully to firm strategy and business development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and review complex HNW individual, corporate, and general tax engagements
  • Serve as primary client advisor and representative on advanced tax matters and notices
  • Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability
  • Mentor, develop, and evaluate professionals across technical and leadership competencies
  • Drive business development initiatives, identify new opportunities, and expand existing client relationships
  • Provide firm leadership through example, collaboration, and accountability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s strongly preferred
  • CPA required
  • 10+ years of public accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in client development, staff leadership, and managing complex engagements
  • Strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel, including overnight, as needed

Compensation:

  • Director: $170,000 – $230,000 + Additional earnings potential based on performance
  • Partner: $250,000 – $350,000 + Additional earnings potential based on performance
