Job Details 
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Business Management team in Century City. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys serving as a trusted advisor, managing complex client relationships, and delivering strategic guidance to high-net-worth individuals, executives, and closely held businesses. 

As a Business Management Tax Manager, you will oversee tax compliance, planning, and accounting-related matters for a diverse portfolio of clients while collaborating with attorneys, financial advisors, agents, and other professionals. You'll have the opportunity to combine technical tax leadership with relationship management and advisory services while supporting clients throughout the Entertainment, Sports, and Media ecosystem. 

 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Leading Managing and Holding People Accountable (LMA) 
  • Learn and begin applying growth process (participates in assigned RC, pipeline support, COPs, etc.) 
  • Supervise the engagement (job) / Ensures QX (technical) standards 
  • Takes care of the client (meets deadlines, timely communication) 
  • Analytical skills (tax knowledge, monthly accounting reports, investment reports) 
  • Develops engagement team (prepares seniors to the next level)   

 

Essential Functions:  

  • Perform quarterly and year-end tax planning, including identification of planning opportunities and risk areas 
  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, S Corporations, C Corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and trusts.  
  • Review general ledger activity, journal entries, and account classifications for accuracy and tax readiness.  
  • Ensure financial records are complete, reconciled, and supportable for tax filings, audits, and external reporting 
  • Validate treatment of distributions, loans, intercompany activity, and other complex transactions 
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules used for tax reporting and compliance 
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies, unusual transactions, and misstatements impacting financial and tax reporting 
  • Oversee bookkeeping staff, including review of work performed and correction of errors 
  • Prepare and compile financial information required for tax compliance, audits, and lender reporting 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management or partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required 
  • CPA License required 
  • 5+ years of tax, accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and financial reports. 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax concepts  
  • Experience working with closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, or business management clients; entertainment industry experience preferred 
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as AgilLink, QuickBooks, or similar platforms 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines while maintaining strict confidentiality 

 

Salary:  $125,000 - $150,000
