 Summary: 

The Assurance Senior Instructional Designer leads the analysis, design, and development of learning assets, collaborates with the Assurance Service Group to identify key learning objectives, and implements effective instructional design principles. Responsibilities include evaluating course effectiveness, recommending improvements, and managing accountability. Additionally, this person develops comprehensive and engaging training materials that align with the latest regulations, standards, and industry best practices. 

 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the analysis, design, and development of learning assets, including Nano Learning, Group Internet Based, Group Live, and simultaneous (Group Internet Based and Group Live) 
  • Collaborate with the Assurance Service Group and designees to identify programs and courses 
  • Implement effective instructional design principles to enhance the overall learning experiences 
  • Instruct technical and software courses related to audit topics and procedures 
  • Evaluate course effectiveness and recommend improvements 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Develop or facilitate the development of comprehensive training materials, including presentations, manuals, case studies, and other relevant content  
  • Conduct training needs assessments and identify NASBA-compliant learning objectives 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and external vendors to gather content and ensure accuracy 
  • Develop instructional materials such as PowerPoints, poll questions, exercises, curriculum, student guides, and handouts 
  • Apply contemporary methods of adult learning theory, NASBA requirements, and curriculum design principles  
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and courses and make recommendations for improvements 
  • Mentor and guide junior instructional designers and other team members 
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in instructional design and learning technologies  
  • Stay updated on the latest audit regulations, standards, and industry trends, including software 
  • Plan, manage, and execute webinars from start to finish 
  • Coordinate with speakers and presenters to ensure they are prepared and equipped 
  • Manage webinar platforms and troubleshoot technical issues 
  • Manage and maintain events in LCvista 
  • Create promotional materials and descriptions for courses 
  • Facilitate attendee engagement and Q&A sessions during courses 
  • Design and develop e-learning courses using various technologies 
  • Integrate multimedia and interactive elements into online courses 

 

Nonessential Functions: 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Learning & Development Business Partner, Learning & Development team, and People Team

Conditions: 

  • Moderate overtime required throughout the year 
  • Heavy sitting for extended periods in front of a computer 
  • Travel, including overnight, may be required approximately 10% of the time

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Active CPA license, complying with audit requirements of the jurisdiction  
  • At least four years of experience as an auditor on public, private, or state and local audits at an accounting firm 
  • Working knowledge of NASBA, AICPA, PCAOB, GAS, Yellow Book, and EBP requirements 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, regulations, and industry standards.  
  • Working knowledge of audit methodologies and related software platforms, for example, CaseWare, DataSnipper, and ShareFile 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze content and design effective courses 
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills  
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills  
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary range:  $98,000 - $120,000/per annum
