Summary:

The Experienced Associate is responsible for delivering advisory projects, including assisting in interviews and walkthroughs and taking notes, performing testing or analysis specific to the project scope, analyzing data, documenting results in audit workpapers, drawing conclusions from analysis and testing, and drafting reports. The Experienced Associate will provide internal audit and management consulting services, including internal audit services, performance audits/reviews, business process and internal control studies, benchmarking studies, efficiency analysis, and more. The Experienced Associate will primarily serve government and public sector organizations.

 

In addition to project delivery responsibilities, the Experienced Associate may learn and participate in business development activities, assist in developing and supervising staff, attend conferences and industry events, and participate in office and firm events.

 

Essential duties:

  • Contributions to the Firm Culture

  • Maintain agility to adapt quickly to shifting needs, demands, technology, or process changes
  • Lead day to day project delivery efforts, including delivering and overseeing delivery by others of project tasks
  • Deliver on time and on budget work product
  • Assist in client interviews, asking questions, taking notes, and identifying themes
  • Perform data analysis, research, testing, and more during project delivery
  • Write reports and prepare deliverables
  • Learn service delivery methodology and tools/technology in order to deliver projects in accordance with firm quality standards
  • Collaborate and communicate with client and team members professionally
  • Participate in industry conferences and training in order to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Obtain continuing education aligned with career goals, considering becoming certified in the future (e.g., CPA, CIA, PMP, CISA, etc.)

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or Master’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., Business, Accounting or Public Affairs/Administration)
  • 1+ years of work experience in public accounting in the public sector specialized in audit, internal audit or related internal control positions
  • Relevant certification preferred but not required (e.g., CPA, CIA, CFE, etc.)
  • Proficiency in professional writing, spreadsheets and presentation creation tools.
  • Ability to travel to meet client needs and work collaboratively with others in person and remotely.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Establish subject matter expertise in the public sector
  • Demonstrated success in high pressure scenarios

Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000
