Summary:

Under minimal supervision directs all operational functions of assigned departments or teams. Employees in this job class plan and execute business strategies for services and business development; coordinate and integrate activities with peers and/or other departments; and assume responsibility for profit and loss results. A Director has similar responsibilities as a Partner, but without ownership. This job class requires knowledge of advanced accounting principals and industry expertise and the ability to lead a variety of business and operational functions, maintain positive client and employee relations and produce high-quality results for the firm.

 

As a Tax Director, your main objective is to achieve business growth by developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key business decision-makers, informing them of our scope of services and communicating how these services benefit their organizations.

· Support Growth Strategies ( Tax/Industry)

· Meet the engagement (job) financial goals / metrics / QC (technical) standards

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and oversee the preparation, review, and submission of Tax provision accruals (ASC740) and financials statement audits, US federal and state corporate income tax returns, reports, and payments for public and privately held multi-national corporations within diverse range of industries.
  • Lead, develop and implement strategic tax planning for all federal, global, and state taxes to minimize company's effective tax rate while preparing tax forecasts and long-range projections of effective tax rates.
  • Support the growth of tax practice by directing and reviewing effective tax processes and aiding clients in development of long-range vision for tax function.
  • Led Tax process optimization and streamline standardization across for better efficiencies by implementing process automation tools for clients and internally.
  • Exhibit superior technical competence, managerial abilities, and the ability to attract and develop new clients.
  • Share knowledge to develop professionally and enhance service delivery. Facilitate open communication and supervise staff and peers
  • Provide firm leadership through example.
  • Be ultimately responsible for all engagements performed under them.
  • Perform assigned administrative duties.
  • Be an asset to the firm through civic and community activities.
  • Develop employees in both technical and management areas.

  • Overnight travel is required approximately 10% of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Licensed CPA required or J.D., LL.M, or EA required
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in public accounting.
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in tax (five of which should be in a management position).
  • Demonstrated success in leading and motivating subordinates.
  • Full competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks.
  • Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow and reassign as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects, especially long-term.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

Success Factors:

  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000
