Summary:

The Advisory Manager is responsible for delivering advisory projects, including overseeing all aspects of project delivery including project planning and kick-off, project staffing and staff team management, leading client interviews, performing and overseeing delivery of key project elements and analysis, and overall project management (e.g., project billing, status reporting and monitoring).  The Advisory Manager will provide internal audit and management consulting services, including internal audit services, performance audits/reviews, business process and internal control studies, benchmarking studies, efficiency analysis, and more.  The Advisory Manager will primarily serve government and public sector organizations.

 

In addition to project delivery responsibilities, the Advisory Manager will have additional responsibilities including assisting in business development activities, developing and supervising staff, attending conferences and industry events, and participating in office and firm events.

 

Essential duties:

  • Contributions to the Firm Culture.
  • Model the core values of MGO.
  • Maintain agility to adapt quickly to shifting needs, demands, technology, or process changes.
  • Serve as a client relationship manager, serving as the key day to day contact with the client.
  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including delivering and overseeing delivery by others of project tasks.
  • Ensure delivery of all project tasks on time and on budget.
  • Lead client interviews, perform data analysis, research, testing, and more during project delivery.
  • Review work of other team members, including but not limited to staff and senior consultants.
  • Lead creation of client deliverables, including writing reports, drafting presentations, and overseeing team members drafting of deliverables.
  • Learn service delivery methodology and tools/technology to deliver projects in accordance with firm quality standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate with clients and team members professionally.
  • Participate in industry conferences and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in the growth process, including overseeing proposal efforts, assisting, preparing for and assisting on interviews, developing thought leadership, and assisting on other business development efforts.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or Master’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., Business, Accounting or Public Affairs/Administration)
  • 5+ years of work experience, ideally in public accounting in the public sector specialized in audit, internal audit or related internal control positions.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CFE, etc.)
  • Proficiency in professional writing, spreadsheets and presentation creation tools.
  • Ability to travel to meet client needs and work collaboratively with others in person and remotely.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Establish subject batter expertise in the public sector.
  • Demonstrated success in high pressure scenarios.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000
