Job Details – Tax Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

MGO is growing and we need an experienced, motivated and dedicated Tax Manager who specializes in M&A transactions and tax matters having multiple years of experience in public accounting to join the team.


Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Work with and assist senior members of the Tax practice with various technical tax issues dealing with C Corporations and consolidated returns, S Corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and LLPs and related transactions;
  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of tax and structuring considerations related to complex transactions including all aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divisions, recapitalizations, and restructurings;
  • Conduct quantitative analysis in order to advise client on possible tax ramifications of critical business decisions related to transaction planning and related deal work;
  • Perform research on complex tax matters and clearly communicate findings and recommendations;
  • Understand and assist in execution of growth strategies (attend market calls and participate in pipeline management, etc.);
  • Manage the engagement/conduct project management, billing, and ensure QC (technical) standards;
  • Oversee and supervise multiple engagements simultaneously;
  • Meet challenging client requirements and provide exceptional service;
  • Consistently display excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills; and
  • Identify new business development opportunities and assist in growing existing client services


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master of Tax preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a public accounting firm (CPA firm) 
  • Licensed CPA or J.D., LL.M, required 
  • Experience with tax research databases including CCH and BNA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational techniques are required
  • Must be highly motivated and experienced in managing multiple client engagements
  • Must begin to attain visibility and recognition within their industry specialization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
